Creating and editing Antique Ads
1. Select an old ad to edit.
2. Once in Photoshop select the text you need to edit with the marquis tool. Create a new layer and fill the marquised selection with any color.
3. Select a selection of the ad that you would like the cover the fill with. (Make sure the selection will tile correctly).
4. Copy the Selection (ctl+C)
5. Now that you have copied the section select "Define Pattern" from the drop down menu under "edit" - Name the pattern "Ad Back"

6. Select the layer with the filled block.
7. Open the layer options menu and goto the pattern overlay menu.

8. From the menu select your new pattern. Make sure it is set at 100%. The text should be covered with the pattern and totally hidden.
9. Type the text over the block.
10. Select the ad again and copy a very small section of the text of the ad. (this pattern will be used to cover your text)
11. Define this pattern and call it "Text Pattern"
12. Select the text layer and in the layer options menu, select your text pattern.

Now your Finished!
